not the deck.

Seven years running a performance agency from near Venice, Italy. Ninety-four Google Ads accounts, three million in spend, four people on the ops desk. Lyra is what we built when the tools we needed didn't exist.

An atlas of how
Lyra came to be.

We tried every tool on the market first. Scripts, sheets, dashboards, "AI" wrappers. None of them solved the whole picture, and most solved one problem while creating two. So we built the thing ourselves.

Zone A · The itch

Ninety-four accounts. Four people.

We started a performance agency near Venice in 2016. By 2022 we were running ninety-four Google Ads accounts across retail, SaaS, and local service — roughly three million a year in active spend, four people handling every deliverable.

The workload compounded. The tools didn't. By 2023 our Monday standup had become a literal reading of "who has what tab open." That's when the punch list started.

Zone B · The inventory

Tools we tried before we built our own.

Sheets, scripts, three bid managers, two reporting platforms, two "AI assistants." Most paid. Zero kept.

Zone C · The rule

If it didn't save an
hour on Monday,
it didn't ship.

The only product rule we've ever held. Nineteen tools passed that test in eighteen months of building. Hundreds more didn't.

Zone D · The first tool

Health Analyzer, Q4 '23.

Replaced a forty-tab Google Sheet that took six hours to rebuild every Monday. We used it internally for three months before anyone outside the agency saw it.

Zone E · The pivot

A peer agency asks for access.

Then three more. We realized we'd stopped building an internal tool and started building a product. Pricing got set at a level a freelancer could afford, and stayed there.

We didn't want a dashboard.
We wanted the hour back.

Three rules.
Never broken.

Principles are easy to write and hard to ship. These three have decided every product argument we've had in the last two years — worth stating out loud so you can hold us to them.
